5 Ways To Love Yourself More

You’re welcome

February. The love month. Time to make hearts happy. Including yours. And I don’t mean by getting into a relationship hurriedly with another person. Because truth be told, whether you have a special someone or not in time for Valentine’s Day (and beyond), it’s okay.

You can still be happy by showing and giving yourself the kind of love you truly want and deserve. Allow me to share with you the 5 ways you can actually love yourself more:

Cut off toxic relationships

You got it. Spare yourself from all the unnecessary drama and stress. If a relationship is causing you more harm than good, then time to think things over. Remember, everyone you add into your space must add value, not take away whatever you have at present and make you feel less than who you really are as a person. When you free yourself from these people, you make room for the right ones to enter your life when you’re ready.

Pursue your long time dream

I always believed that dreams are given to each and every person for a reason and that it’s really up to the person to make it happen. Time to turn that dream into reality by giving yourself the permission to do something you’ve never done before. All it takes is your courage coming from believing in yourself and committing to your own happiness and growth coming from a space of self-love. Revive a passion project? Switch careers? Travel the world? You have the power to make each one happen.

Reward yourself just because

You don’t need a big reason to pamper yourself simply because you deserve what you can willingly give others outright. You are very much deserving of that pampering session or that new pair of shoes you’ve been eying for months. Remember that you just don’t work to pay the bills but rather to enjoy what life has to offer, as long as you can responsibly afford them. Don’t ever make yourself feel less deserving of the good things in life.

Let go of grudges

Unburden yourself by forgiving others who have wronged you, and even yourself in the process. Remember that when you forgive, you set yourself free from the negative emotions holding you back and you gift yourself the beautiful opportunity to move on and forward coming from a space of love. And just be clear, you don’t have to force relationships to be the same again. And it doesn’t mean that you have to keep the same people who have hurt you in your circle still. Co-existing, instead of compromising your space again, is the best way to go about it.

Make yourself proud

Be good. Try harder, do better.  Be your own #bestmeever . If you can make others happy with your achievements, how much more if you dedicate it to yourself? Be inspired by who you are and what you have so you can be the person you have envisioned yourself to be. A little good deed? Weight loss? A promotion at work? I know you can.

So there you go, a whole lot of lovin’ for you this love month to make your heart happier as you strengthen your most important relationship: the one with yourself.
